Mt. Pleasant Middle School Physical Education Policy
It is the goal of physical education to give every student the opportunity to experience a multitude of activities to enhance motor learning, cognitive concepts, social skills, and body control, as well as sports skills.
To accomplish this goal during our limited class time, a student needs to be prepared for class with proper clothing and footwear(tennis shoes). It is also important that the student participate in class to the best of their ability.
If a student has been ill, but is well enough to be in school, they need to self limit or modify their physical activity in class, such as walking instead of jogging for warm-up
If a student has an injury and/or is under the care of a physician that will require the student to abstain from participation for more than one week, a note from the physician is required. This is very important, because the physician will normally include:
- type of restriction
- the amount of time the student is restricted
- the date when student may return to full participation.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact me, or Darby Weaver at 775-2220.
Thanks for your help and cooperation concerning this matter.
